The Clovis people, who lived in North America (New Mexico-ish) 13,000 years ago, didn't traditionally "hunt", by hurling spears and other objects at their prey, which logically makes a lot more sense than traditional theories.  I mean, we're talking about mammoths, sabretooth cats and giant ground sloths, so it's unlikely that a human throwing anything at one of these animals, would cause it any harm.      

Rather, new research suggests that humans pike hunted these animals.  And now you can look that up on your own!
