The alligator holds significant symbolism in most ancient civilizations and/or cultures. Look that shit up. Too many to talk about here, but Native Americans believed the Alligator represented protection, transformation, and ancient deities. As a protector, the alligator is often associated with guardianship and spiritual guidance. It's seen as a transformative force, embodying the ability to navigate both land and water and symbolizing adaptability and resilience. Moreover, in certain Native American mythologies, the alligator serves as an ancient deity, revered for its power and wisdom.
As a sidenote, I consider North Florida to be my "home". It's where I lived for the longest, it's where I went to college and it's where I wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars on whatever other useless grad and post-grad schools I attended. It's where I met my wife. Get over it. I like Gators. They're dope. I also like the Jaguars, as difficult as that can be sometimes. Don't be a Gator hater (yes, I'm talking to you Tennessee). Anyone who has ever had a few too many whiskeys at Clark's Fish Camp (RIP), while feeding the wild gators off the docks, and then gone "gator hunting" by jumping off your boat ride home into Black Creek, knows what I'm talking about! See y'all soon.
