According to the Ngāpuhi people, the first human to reach New Zealand was Kupe, a legendary Polynesian explorer. Using the stars and ocean currents as his guides, he ventured across the Pacific on a canoe from his homeland of Hawaiki. It's said that this occurred in the late 1200's. Over the next couple hundred years, thousands more Polynesians followed. They built homes, cultivated the land and lived in peace. Fast forward maybe 600-700 years and, like most other things in our lives, the Europeans busted in and said, "we're taking it for us."
Thankfully the Polynesians didn't give a fuck and transformed into some of the fiercest warriors in history. They didn't last long, but they never, never, NEVER gave up, gave in or surrendered. Hense this tee.
"Kaua e mate wheke, mate ururoa." (Don't die like an octopus, die like a hammerhead shark) - Maori proverb.
Octopus are very well-known for their lack of resistance when being attacked and/or captured. A hammerhead, on the other hand, will fight to the death, no matter their opponent. When a hammerhead is freshly filleted, the meat continues to quiver, which the Polynesians believed was the hammerhead still fighting, even after death. The phrase is now commonly used to encourage someone not to give up, no matter how hard the struggle is.
This hoodie has four (4) feet of 550 cord as its drawstring. Because you never know.
Our hoodies are obnoxiously soft. And they're fly AF. Like all of our apparel, our graphics are printed; not pressed. This creates a much softer graphic that flows with and actually feels like it's a part of the fabric. Someone will definitely attempt to steal it from you. You need to be smarter. And faster. Or you can just buy another.
